The fourth International Youth Basketball Championships 2026 (IYBC 2026) has unveiled its official competition divisions, counting down to the regional showdown among youth basketball athletes from across Asia and Oceania. The tournament runs July 24-28, 2026 at RIS Ruamrudee International School's Minburi Campus and RIS Swiss Section. This year's competition has received overwhelming participation with 91 teams from 12 countries, one U.S. territory (Guam), and two Chinese special administrative regions (Macau and Hong Kong), representing nations including South Korea, Taiwan, Nepal, Philippines, Mongolia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, and Thailand. This marks one of the largest international youth basketball tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region this year.
Competition categories include U12 boys, U14 boys, U14 girls, U16 boys Diamond, U16 boys Platinum, U16 girls, U18 boys Diamond, U18 boys Platinum, and U18 girls. The tournament's highlight features four championship divisions sponsored by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn: U16 boys Diamond, U16 girls, U18 boys Diamond, and U18 girls—the tournament's highest level and the primary target for top-tier international teams.
The draw ceremony for the competition brackets took place July 7, 2026 at the Thailand Sports Authority's Chulalongkorn 70th Anniversary Building, presided over by Piyapong Pirun, Secretary-General of the Basketball Association of Thailand (BSAT), with team representatives, coaches, parents, and stakeholders in attendance.
