Bangkok Bank Funds Digital Innovation Center at Medical School

On September 2, 2026, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) held a ceremony to receive funding from Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited for establishing an "Innovation and Digital Technology Learning Center" at the Faculty of Medicine. The center is designed to enhance learning infrastructure and promote digital innovation in medical education, research, and workforce development for the digital age. University President Professor Dr. Theerawut Bunyasophon and Rector Professor Dr. Thanin Silpcharue led the reception.

Pajani Kongkhalai, Senior Vice President of Bangkok Bank, emphasized that the bank's support reflects the financial sector's commitment to education, innovation, and creating modern learning environments, particularly for healthcare professionals. He noted that developing personnel with professional knowledge, technological capability, and innovation skills is essential for advancing Thailand's healthcare system and improving public health services. Bangkok Bank donated 1 million baht to the university, with senior administrators and bank executives witnessing the transfer.

Associate Professor Dr. Napradol Vivatcharogsakul, who designed the center, explained its operations and benefits. The learning center will serve medical students, KMUTT students, and the general public, including business, industry, and government personnel. Services will be available through online learning platforms, making knowledge and activities accessible to a wider audience. The center's knowledge and technology can also support telemedicine initiatives, improving access to digital healthcare services and preparing Thailand's health system for future changes. This collaboration between KMUTT and Bangkok Bank represents an important partnership between education and business sectors working together to drive national development, create educational opportunities, and foster learning environments.
