Thai Actress Kicked Out Of Japanese Hot Spring For Tattoos

Thai actress Aum Luckana was ejected from a Japanese onsen after waterproof tape covering her tattoos peeled off in the pool, despite the facility's strict no-tattoo policy.

2h ago Khaosod

Thai actress and model Aum Luckana posted a TikTok video describing her experience at a Japanese onsen before being asked to leave due to her tattoos. She explained that the facility strictly prohibits anyone with tattoos from entering the water, regardless of size. After being denied entry at one location, she tried another onsen outside the city but encountered the same policy. The facility offered medical tape to cover her tattoos, which she had to purchase extra of to cover all her inked areas. When she first entered the water, the tape remained in place, but when moving to another pool, water pressure caused all the tape to peel off, resulting in her being asked to leave. She managed to soak for about 45 minutes before being stopped, which she described as a great experience despite the interruption. Luckana concluded by advising anyone with tattoos considering a visit to Japanese onsen to bring waterproof bandages, adding humorously in the caption: "If I could go back, I would never get a single tattoo."

Divers Find Murder Victim in Submerged Cement Tank

A 39-year-old man missing for months was found dead in a cement tank submerged in a Nonthaburi pond after divers spotted decomposition gas bubbles rising from the murky 25-30 meter depths. Police are seeking to arrest a suspect accused of s

3h ago Khaosod

A 39-year-old man named Uthen, also known as Jia, who had been missing for months, was found dead inside a cement-filled tank that had been thrown into a large pond in Moo 11, Bang Bua Thong Subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province. Rescue officials conducted underwater searches, and after six days, they discovered the tank containing the body. According to a diving team, the pond was extensive with depths of 25-30 meters, and since the tank had been submerged for over a month, sediment had covered the underwater area, making the search extremely difficult. However, officers noticed a suspicious location where air bubbles continuously rose from below, resembling gas from decomposition escaping the tank. This led them to find the tank and successfully retrieve it. The diving team had nearly given up after searching for 3-4 days without success, but these air bubbles—seemingly a signal from the deceased asking for help—ultimately led to the discovery. When rescue officials brought the tank up and opened it, they found lime and human remains inside, corroborating the statement of a witness named Bird, who admitted to being involved in concealing and disposing of the body in the pond. The victim's mother was asked to identify the remains, and she confirmed it was her son based on his clothing, necklace, and physical features. Police are preparing to request a court warrant for the arrest of a suspect named Sam, who allegedly shot and killed Uthen, as indicated by Bird's testimony.

Foreign Ministry Warns Against Carrying Luggage Abroad for Others

Thailand's Foreign Ministry warns citizens against carrying luggage or packages for others abroad, as such arrangements often conceal illegal items like drugs or smuggled goods and expose travelers to serious criminal liability.

3h ago Khaosod

The Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has issued a warning against accepting or being hired to transport luggage abroad under any circumstances. The department strictly prohibits citizens from accepting parcels or packages from others to carry overseas, whether for payment or at the urging of acquaintances claiming to know the recipient. Such arrangements risk concealing illegal items including prohibited goods, smuggled merchandise, or drugs. Anyone caught transporting such items faces legal responsibility in their own name. Drug possession or trafficking carries severe penalties both in Thailand and internationally, and cannabis—including extracted oils with THC content exceeding 0.2 percent—remains classified as a controlled substance in many countries. The department advises all travelers to manage only their own luggage, firmly refuse requests to carry items for others, and prioritize their safety while traveling.

Barcelona President Joan Laporta has confirmed the club has submitted an offer to sign Julián Álvarez, the forward from rival La Liga side Atlético Madrid, saying the player also wants to join Barcelona.

Former Watch Seller Arrested For iPhone Theft At Buddhist Temple

A 38-year-old former watch seller was arrested for stealing an iPhone 16 Pro Max from a tourist at Bangkok's Wat Pho temple in February, with investigators linking him to at least three similar thefts at the same location.

3h ago Khaosod

Police arrested 38-year-old Vunchai on July 1 on a court arrest warrant dated June 10, charging him with theft at a public shrine. The arrest came after an American tourist filed a complaint on February 13, reporting that his iPhone 16 Pro Max was stolen from inside Wat Pho temple on Maharaj Road in Bangkok's Pranakorn District. Investigators reviewed security camera footage to identify the suspect before issuing an arrest warrant and locating him.

During questioning, Vunchai claimed he was formerly a watch seller who became interested in Buddha amulets and visited amulet markets, including Tha Phra Chan Market, to resell items. On the day of the incident, he entered Wat Pho to pray and wait for transportation home to Bang Khae. He claimed he found the phone abandoned at the base of a Buddha statue, took it, and sold it as a used device for 800 baht.

Investigators determined he had committed similar thefts three times at Wat Pho between January and February. In the first incident, he stole a tourist's wallet. In the second incident, he stole a mobile phone. In the third incident, he stole another mobile phone. After the third incident, he attempted to enter the temple again but was pursued by security guards and fled. He has now been taken into police custody for legal proceedings.

Opposition Coalition Seeks Constitutional Amendment Delay

The opposition coalition is seeking a delay to July's constitutional amendment parliamentary session, citing an incomplete public petition that lacks required signatures for timely submission. The three-faction meeting has been rescheduled

3h ago Khaosod

Pirsit Watcharasindhul, a Pheu Thai party list MP and coordinator of the opposition coalition (opposition bloc), said the joint parliamentary session originally scheduled for July 7-8 to consider constitutional amendments regarding Section 15/1 and drafting a new constitution should be postponed. A public draft is being prepared and has not yet reached the required 50,000 signatures, making it impossible for it to be submitted in time for the July 7-8 meeting. Pirsit expressed surprise that the parliamentary speaker has not yet scheduled a three-faction meeting to formalize discussions and clarify whether other parliamentary agendas will be considered instead.

Chada Thaiseuksaman, a Bhumjaithai party MP from Uthai Thani, raised concerns about verifying that public signatories actually understand the constitutional amendment proposal, citing a previous submission of 20,000 signatures with unclear public comprehension. Sophon responded that verification procedures are already in place.

Sophon proposed moving the three-faction meeting to the morning of July 6, citing a full schedule on July 2. Pirsit agreed but expressed concern about having only 24 hours between the meeting and the July 7 parliamentary session. He requested a commitment that if the meeting proceeds on July 6, the July 7 parliamentary agenda should focus on Article 236 constitutional amendments, which have already been sufficiently studied. Sophon agreed to issue invitations for the three-faction meeting on July 6.
