Coordinated disturbances across three southern border provinces—Yala, Narathiwat, and Pattani—have resulted in at least 30 simultaneous incidents including arson, robberies, and property destruction. As of 22:00 on 22 August, unknown assailants have carried out multiple attack types including burning vehicle tires, torching government vehicles, destroying telephone poles and CCTV cameras, scattering boat nails, and leaving suspicious objects at various locations, causing damage to public and private infrastructure.

Incidents in Yala Province include the burning of two government vehicles in Baan Hae subdistrict, destruction of telephone poles in Sri Thamnak subdistrict, and multiple incidents along Highway 410 involving tire fires, pole destruction, and CCTV camera burning. In Yala City, authorities reported billboard arson on Highway 418, boat nail scattering on Budi Road, tire burning near a Chinese cemetery, and suspicious objects near the Yala curve. Raman District saw two tire fires in Jaka and Kayubo Kao subdistricts, plus road vandalism in Noen Ngam.

As of 22:00, the three provinces reported a combined 32 incidents: Narathiwat 13, Yala 14, and Pattani 5. Police Region 9 Commander Piyawat Choemchai has ordered all police stations and units to maximum alert status, assessing that the attackers are attempting to create pressure on specific targets and operational bases. Yala Provincial Police Commander Kongkiat Suwannakhom has tightened security at key checkpoints including the Malayuban Bangkok checkpoint at Yala city entrance, with strict checks on persons, vehicles, and suspicious objects. Military, police, and administrative officials have been instructed to integrate efforts using tactical doctrine while avoiding repetitive operations, and to closely monitor the situation to maintain public confidence.
