The Thai Handgun Association, under royal patronage, held the 2026 THPSA Handgun Kings Cup (Level III) from September 4-6 at the national shooting range in Bang Lamung, Rayong province. The international competition attracted 213 competitors from eight countries: China, Laos, Macau, Australia, Hong Kong, Sweden, the Philippines, and Thailand, competing across seven handgun divisions.
In the prestigious Handgun Division Open, defending champion Veeravit Jarugiatpongsa, a SEA Games gold medalist, demonstrated exceptional shooting precision to reclaim the royal trophy for a second time. In the women's division, former 2567 champion Mintra Pramoht made an impressive return to competitive shooting, winning her category and reclaiming the royal trophy.
Other championship results included four winners receiving the Queen Suthida Trophy: Rolley Nathaniel Tekson of the Philippines (Men's Production), Anda Jonmy (Women's Production), Peeranat Tanpairaw (Men's Production Optics), and Patmaprorn Chiewchaiwattanakul (Women's Production Optics). Four winners received the Princess Sirivannavari Trophy: Charatprot Sriratnanth (Men's Standard), Pattaratida Makhaew (Women's Standard), Sadiskon Chomrit (Men's Classic), and Nannallin Luangpraserit (Women's Classic). Two winners received the Prince Dipangkorn Trophy: Theerapong Timin (Men's Revolver) and Patmaprorn Chiewchaiwattanakul (Women's Production Optics).
Association Secretary General Chalitrat Chantrubeksa stated this was the third year of the championship, now held as an international competition that serves as the annual Southeast Asian handgun tournament. He announced that Thailand will host the 11th Australasia Handgun Championship in 2027, expected to attract 600-700 competitors, with national team selections beginning in November 2026. Additionally, the association will participate in the 7th Thailand Master Games international senior shooting competition in January 2027, which has already attracted over 300 registered participants from around the world.
