Thailand to Deport French National for Misconduct
Thailand has deported a French national for misconduct, marking the second foreigner removed under new Interior Ministry regulations aimed at enforcing stricter behavioral standards for foreign residents.
At 11:35 on September 7, 2569, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Interior Minister gave an interview at Parliament regarding the deportation of a French national, the second foreigner to be removed from Thailand under new Interior Ministry regulations. The Prime Minister stated that "the law exists and must be enforced." When asked whether the first Israeli deportee had filed an appeal, Anutin said he must submit any appeal to the Prime Minister and that he had not yet received an appeal letter. He emphasized that appeals must go to the Prime Minister since the Interior Minister signs the deportation order, and this is a procedural step. When asked if others on the deportation list would be removed, the Prime Minister said anyone engaging in misconduct would not be welcome in Thailand. Regarding reports of an Israeli cemetery in Chachoengsao Province, Anutin said Deputy Interior Minister Peer Suwannchoovee confirmed no such cemetery exists or is planned. When asked about permits for foreign cemeteries in Thailand, the Prime Minister deferred to the Deputy Interior Minister for details. Anutin denied that foreign-related problems in Thailand were increasing, saying issues had already been resolved and there are not many such problems.
