Deputy Minister Promises Flood Aid for Klong Chan Flat Residents
Deputy Interior Minister Jeeraset Thai‑set assured that all residents of the Klong Chan flats who have been flooded for more than seven days will receive government relief payments, denying that any eligible person has been left out. He apologized for earlier confusing statements and said any discrepancies in the state relief app are likely due to data entry errors that will be checked and corrected. The aid, funded entirely by public taxes, will be expedited once information is verified.
Jeeraset Thai‑set, Deputy Interior Minister overseeing the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said on October 7, 2026 that all flood‑affected residents who meet the criterion of being surrounded by water for more than seven days will receive relief payments, with no cases of eligible people being left out. He apologized for earlier confusing communications and said the Klong Chan housing estate does satisfy the seven‑day flood‑encirclement rule, so everyone there should get aid. He added that the amount paid follows the set formula, and that if the state app incorrectly shows residents as ineligible due to data entry errors, the responsible agencies will be contacted immediately to verify and correct the information. Jeeraset stressed that the relief money comes entirely from public taxes and is a full entitlement, urging people to feel confident that once their details are submitted correctly the funds will be rushed to them.
