Deputy Warden's Car Crashes Into 18-Wheel Truck
A deputy warden was extracted from his crushed sedan after colliding head-on with an 18-wheel truck on Sukhumvit Road in Chon Buri early September 18, leaving him severely trapped and requiring emergency cutting equipment to rescue.
A sedan driven by a deputy warden collided head-on with the rear of an 18-wheel truck, causing severe damage and spinning from the impact. Emergency crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue the trapped occupant. At 3:40 a.m. on September 18, 2025, Pattaya Rescue Center received a report of a sedan hitting an 18-wheel truck on Sukhumvit Road near the Wave Inn U-turn in Ban Lamung, Chon Buri. The Toyota Altis sedan was heavily damaged, with a pistol and cash scattered outside the vehicle. Inside, rescuers found Deputy Superintendent Tharat (surname withheld), a deputy warden at a private accommodation facility, trapped behind the steering wheel. Officers used cutting equipment to extract him, provided first aid, and urgently transported him to Pattaya Pittamakun Hospital.
The 18-wheel truck, registered in Saraburi province, suffered severe damage including a broken rear axle. The driver, 37-year-old Team (surname withheld), told police he was heading to Laem Chabang port when the sedan suddenly approached at high speed and struck the rear of his truck with tremendous force, causing it to spin. Team also noted that the accident location was very dark with almost no street lighting.
Police from Ban Lamung Station documented the scene and collected photographic evidence. Authorities plan to review closed-circuit security camera footage from nearby areas to determine the cause of the collision and ensure fair investigation of all parties involved.
