Drunk Driver Crashes Into Motorcycle, Woman Dies

A young musician from a popular band suffered critical injuries and his girlfriend died when a drunk driver in a Suzuki Swift rear-ended their Honda Wave motorcycle on September 11 at 4:00 a.m. on Highway 205 in Nakhon Ratchasima's municipal area. Police from Muang Nakhon Ratchasima station responded to the crash scene, where they found the car's front heavily damaged and the vehicle spun across to the opposite lane. About 5 meters away, officers found a man and woman barely breathing with severe wounds and multiple fractures.

The injured man was identified as Wuttikaew (Bank), 38, a musician with the band Isan Thai Baan Sound, who suffered serious injuries. The woman, Kesini, 30, died at the scene. Police performed emergency resuscitation during transport, and another minor injury victim was identified as Phuvanun, 26, the car driver. The large group of friends who arrived at the scene became emotionally distressed upon seeing the deceased woman, prompting police to take precautions and conduct an alcohol test on the driver, which showed a level exceeding the legal limit.

Investigation revealed that Phuvanun was driving the Suzuki Swift alone and heading home when he rear-ended the motorcycle carrying Bank and Kesini. The couple were in a relationship and had just rented a space to open a chicken rice restaurant near a university. They had been out buying supplies from the market when the accident occurred.
