DT Motorsport Apologizes to Phayu's Family, Accepts Association Ruling
DT Motorsport apologized to the family of young kart racer Phayu and accepted the Motorsport Association of Thailand's ruling that his engine violated regulations. The team said there was no intent to gain an advantage and blamed the error on a misinterpretation of homologation documents. They pledged to seek clearer guidance in future competitions.
DT Motorsport apologized for the error and to Phayu's family, stating there was no intention to create an advantage in competition and accepting the decision of the Motorsport Association of Thailand under royal patronage. The incident arose after a protest concerning Phayu's first-place finish in the Cadet B class of the TrueVisions Championship 2026, with calls to inspect whether his kart's engine followed the rules. The association's subsequent statement said Phayu's kart engine was not compliant, stressing that all engines in the Cadet‑B category must be identical. In a clarification posted on October 15, 2026, the DT Motorsport team said it accepted the association's ruling without dispute, apologized for misinterpreting the homologation form, and stressed the mistake was the team's, not the young driver's. The team explained that confusion came from the factory's documentation, which also misled IAME officials and race organizers, and pledged to seek written clarification from race officials, technical controllers and manufacturers before any future action. DT Motorsport extended its apologies to Phayu's family, thanked supporters, apologized to fellow competitors and their families, to fans, and to the association, organizers, officials and all Cadet‑B families for any confusion caused. Finally, the team congratulated all competitors who succeeded in the event, including podium finishers, annual champions and everyone who overcame personal challenges to take part.
