Employee Bus Crashes Into Another Bus, 25 Injured
A shuttle bus with brake failure struck another employee bus from behind at a traffic light in Ang Thong province on July 23, injuring 25 factory workers.
At 06:50 on 23 July 2025, Deputy Traffic Inspector Wuthi Ngampraserit of Mueang Ang Thong Police Station was notified of a rear-end collision between two employee shuttle buses at the Ban Iht intersection traffic light in Mueang district, Ang Thong province. He and paramedics from Ang Thong Hospital, rescue officials, and volunteers responded immediately. Upon arrival, responders found numerous factory workers from a company in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya with injuries. Initially, 25 people were identified with minor injuries and were rushed to Ang Thong Hospital for urgent treatment. When questioned, the first bus driver said he was transporting factory workers from Chaiyaphume district to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya when another shuttle bus struck his vehicle from behind at the red light, causing the injuries. The driver of the striking bus reported that he was carrying 40 workers from Samko district heading to a factory in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya when his rear tire burst and his brakes failed, causing him to collide with the first bus and injuring 25 people. Deputy Inspector Manit Nakhaibuuly has ordered an investigation of closed-circuit camera footage and dashcam video, and is questioning both drivers to determine the true cause of the accident in accordance with legal procedures.
