A former dean of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) is calling on Thong Lo police to prosecute a man accused of pushing another person off a bicycle in front of the police station on September 4. According to the complaint, Natthawut Wong-Niam pushed Somchai Srisuthiyakorn, causing him to fall with his bicycle, then verbally abused him and grabbed his cap in front of police officers and journalists despite attempts by both to stop the altercation.
Pichai Ratanadilek, a former dean of NIDA's Faculty of Social Development and Management Strategy, posted on Facebook urging police to take decisive action, describing the behavior as an act of violence in front of a government office that shows contempt for the rule of law. He stated that the use of physical force was not merely a personal dispute but an attack on the principles of peaceful conflict resolution in civilized society.
Pichai emphasized that the incident sends a dangerous signal that individuals believe they are above the law, and that if police do not prosecute swiftly and fairly, it will set a harmful precedent for society.
