On September 21, 2025, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchat Chomklin instructed the Pollution Control Department to monitor and inspect factories potentially discharging wastewater into the environment, emphasizing strict legal enforcement to prevent pollution problems affecting the public.
Pollution Control Department Director General Dr. Surintr Workitdhahm said the department's Regional Office 13, along with related agencies, inspected Crown Industrial Park in Na Wang Hin Subdistrict, Panasnikhom District, Chachoengsao Province on September 21. The inspection team included the Chachoengsao Natural Resources and Environment Office, Chachoengsao Industrial Office, Na Wang Hin Subdistrict Administration, and a representative from the Democrat Party.
The inspection found a Class 58(3) factory manufacturing interior decorative materials with 248 employees. The factory operates a sedimentation system to treat wastewater from production, and recycled water is reused in operations. However, the inspection revealed the factory failed to comply with ministerial regulations issued under Section 80 of the National Environmental Quality Promotion and Conservation Act, specifically regarding records and data documenting wastewater treatment system performance. The maximum penalty is one year imprisonment, a fine not exceeding 100,000 baht, or both.
The Pollution Control Department will notify the operator to submit a statement before pursuing legal action. The Chachoengsao Industrial Office has ordered the factory to halt operations and complete repairs by November 2025, with the Pollution Control Department to monitor progress closely.
