Thai Students Win First Prize at Belt and Road Camp in China
Thai students from Buriram won first prize at an international maker camp in China, showcasing Thailand's youth innovation potential on the global stage.
On September 24, the National Science Museum (NSM) announced that a team of Thai youth from Chulaphon Rajawittayalai Science School in Buriram—champions of the 2568 national natural science project competition—represented Thailand at the 10th Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp & Teacher Workshop (Guangxi) in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, from September 18–23, 2569.
The Thai delegation consisted of students Natthayan Jirachit-Meechai, Yanakon Thongtaem, Wongsagorn Yappatang, and Watcharaporn Saenna, supervised by advisor Kanyalin Thanarojkul, a science communicator at NSM. During the program, the students participated in hands-on workshops including the AI Maker Camp, Natural Science Maker Camp, and botanical studies, as well as visits to Guangxi Science and Technology Museum and the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO).
Through outstanding teamwork, creative collaboration, and dedicated participation, the Thai team earned the First Prize from Mr. Huang Xinghua, director of Guangxi Science and Technology Museum, bringing honor and pride to Thailand on the international stage. Suwalong Wongsiree, acting director of NSM, praised the students' achievement, noting that their success demonstrates the potential, determination, and readiness of Thai youth to innovate globally. NSM reaffirmed its commitment to supporting youth development in science and innovation to build future leaders for the nation.
