Floods Hit 25 Provinces, Bangkok; 8 Deaths Reported
Flooding across 25 Thai provinces and Bangkok has affected over 545,000 people in more than 174,000 households, with eight deaths reported as of September 27.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported on September 27 that flooding has struck 25 provinces and 50 Bangkok districts, impacting more than 174,000 households across 128 districts and 587 subdistricts, affecting 545,022 people. The affected provinces include Phisanulok, Phetchabun, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lopburi, Singburi, Chainat, Suphan Buri, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Nayok, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Sa Kaew, Chachoengsao, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Trat, Buriram, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Surin. Department director Theeraphattana Kachamatya detailed province-by-province impacts: Phisanulok saw flooding in 6 districts affecting 129 households; Phetchabun in 5 districts with 79 households impacted; Nakhon Sawan in 10 districts with 833 households affected; Uthai Thani in 3 districts with 60 households; Lopburi in 4 districts with 516 households; Chainat in 3 districts with 87 households; Singburi in 2 districts with 15 households; Suphan Buri in 5 districts with 6,385 households; Saraburi in 8 districts with 297 households and 1 death; Ayutthaya in 6 districts with 13,971 households; Samut Prakan in 6 districts with 124,678 households; Pathum Thani in 6 districts with 4,437 households; and Nakhon Pathom in 4 districts. Water levels remain stable or rising in most areas, with some provinces showing declining levels.
