Heavy Rain Floods Nonthaburi Streets, Traffic Gridlocked
Continuous heavy rain on September 25 flooded major streets across Nonthaburi province, with water reaching 20-30 centimeters on key roads like Ratnathibet and Tivanon, causing severe traffic congestion.
Nonthaburi residents faced severe disruptions on September 25 after continuous rain throughout the day caused flooding at multiple locations across the province. Ratnathibet Road in Bang Krasoem subdistrict, Muang district, saw water pooling 15-20 centimeters deep along the inbound lanes from Nonthaburi Provincial Hall to Karaeng intersection and in front of The Mall Ngamwongwan, causing severe traffic slowdowns. On Tivanon Road heading out from Karaeng intersection toward the aquarium, the leftmost traffic lane accumulated 15-20 centimeters of water. Near Cardiac Hospital on Tivanon Road heading toward Karaeng, water levels reached 20-30 centimeters in the center and left lanes, blocking vehicles and motorcycles from using the leftmost lane. Ngamwongwan Road experienced similar flooding, particularly in front of The Mall Ngamwongwan and Likam Somchai Memorial School, with high water levels in the left lane reducing traffic capacity by one lane and causing significant congestion in both directions. The flooding has created heavy traffic jams across major roads throughout Nonthaburi province.
