Nonthaburi Flooding Halts Traffic on Ngamwongwan Road
Flooding submerged Ngamwongwan Road in Nonthaburi on September 27, halting traffic across all lanes as water reached 50-70 centimeters near The Mall and nearby hospitals.
At 1 p.m. on September 27, flooding conditions persisted on Ngamwongwan Road in Mueang Nonthaburi district from Phong Phet intersection to beneath the expressway, affecting all three lanes in both directions. Water levels reached 50-70 centimeters in front of The Mall, Nontavej Hospital, and Lekcome School, making passage impossible for small vehicles. Nonthaburi Provincial Police, transport officials, and volunteers deployed trucks to ferry residents from The Mall to the Karaey intersection.
The road parallel to Prasap Canal from Phong Phet intersection to Chaeng Watthana Road was also heavily flooded with 30-50 centimeters of water across two lanes, with numerous stalled vehicles reported. Small vehicles were advised to take alternative routes. At the intersection of Chaeng Watthana and Pak Kret Soi 38 in Klong Klua subdistrict, Pak Kret district, water levels reached 50-60 centimeters across all lanes.
Some residents attempting to cross Chaeng Watthana Road had to abandon motorcycles in floodwaters or wade on foot, using plastic containers tied to ropes to carry belongings. Light rain continued to fall. Traffic could only move through the rightmost lane, with military vehicles and public buses providing transport services to residents.
