On September 22, 2026, Police Major General Pattanasak Bubbhasuwarn, Commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, along with Police Colonel Netiwithai Thanasittinigul and officers from the Investigation Division, raided a residential building in Sena Seb Sub-district, Minburi District, Bangkok, following intelligence about a Hong Kong drug trafficking network smuggling narcotics into Thailand for export abroad.
During the search, officers found 26-year-old Hong Kong national Wang living alone in the residence. Police discovered crystal methamphetamine packed in three plastic drums, ready for repacking and distribution for export, totaling approximately 350 kilograms with an estimated export value of around 700 million baht. Officers also seized numerous drug preparation and packaging equipment including plastic bags, cardboard boxes, digital scales, blenders, vacuum sealers, luggage, plastic basins, and plastic crates.
Under interrogation, Wang stated he entered Thailand for the first time on September 14 using a tourist visa, traveling from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Upon arrival, a local criminal network provided him with accommodation and delivered the ice drug. He was tasked with packaging the narcotics and awaiting shipment instructions in exchange for 20,000 Hong Kong dollars in wages.
Wang and the seized materials were handed over to the Narcotics Suppression Bureau for legal proceedings. Authorities are now pursuing the other network members and organizers involved in the operation.
