Tidlor Holdings Insurance Brokerage Expands With InsurTech Platform

Tidlor Holdings Insurance Brokerage Expands With InsurTech Platform
30 Jul Khaosod

Chaiyarut Sukplang is driving growth for Tidlor Holdings' insurance brokerage business using InsurTech platforms, bucking market trends. While Thailand's property and casualty insurance market grows by just a few percentage points annually, Tidlor's brokerage division has achieved consistent double-digit expansion. What factors underpin this success, and how much room for growth remains in the market?

Countermarket growth on strong fundamentals

In 2568 (2025), Tidlor Holdings' insurance brokerage business grew 10.5% year-over-year, far outpacing industry average growth of around 3 percent. In the first quarter of 2569 (2026), the division maintained momentum with property and casualty premiums up 11.7% compared to the same period last year. Chaiyarut Sukplang, deputy managing director of the insurance brokerage division at NgernTidlor, a Tidlor Holdings company, said the sustained growth stems from strengths in InsurTech technology, which acts as the backbone enabling expanded sales channels and customer services with comprehensive, efficient reach. This allows the business to advance steadily even amid current market volatility.

Business structure serving all customer needs

Tidlor's insurance brokerage stands out for comprehensive product coverage across two dimensions: insurance solutions meeting all needs—covering vehicles, people, and homes—and sales and service channels designed to match all customer behaviors. The operation runs three core brands.

PrakanTidlor (Shield Insurance Broker) is the number-one face-to-face service brand, positioned as a service broker elevating client experience from purchase through claims. It employs over 5,000 professionals across more than 1,900 NgernTidlor branches nationwide, offering close consultation. A dedicated 24/7 call center (PrakanTidlor 1501) handles claims and full-cycle customer care under the tagline "Peace of mind from purchase to claim." The call center has logged over 260,000 service interactions since December 2023.

The company also operates InsurTech platforms: Areegator, a Software-as-a-Service platform for independent brokers, and heygoody.com, a fully digital brokerage platform for customers buying insurance online 24/7, particularly travel insurance, which enjoys strong repeat purchase rates. Both platforms drive overall company growth.

Thailand's insurance market: opportunity wide open

Despite steady growth, Chaiyarut sees further upside in Thailand's insurance market. In 2568, the property and casualty segment wrote 292,785 million baht in direct premiums, while life insurance reached 676,436 million baht. Thailand has over 45 million registered vehicles, yet roughly half carry no voluntary auto insurance. The company aims to grow its property and casualty brokerage business at 5–10 percent annually, with expansion plans underway.

Suphachai Defends Bhumjaithai, Says Orange MPs Didn't Share Costs

Bhumjaithai MP Suphachai denied defending individual party members but argued the Democrat faction's vote-buying procedures mirrored those his party faces investigation for, while claiming evidence contradicts claims that expenses at a key

Suphachai Defends Bhumjaithai, Says Orange MPs Didn't Share Costs
30 Jul Khaosod

On July 30, 2569, Suphachai Jaismut, a Bhumjaithai list-system MP and legal affairs working-group chair, posted on Facebook addressing Democrat MP Nanthana Nanthawaropass, saying he has been a fan of hers since her talk-show days and noting that she remains true to form in how she speaks regardless of her position. He denied troubling himself or defending any particular MP, clarifying that his recent defense has been limited to the Bhumjaithai Party and nine party members facing old accusations of vote-buying from civil rights group iLaw and opposition parties. Suphachai questioned how the orange faction's procedures differed from the accusations, since both followed identical processes from district to national level, implying that if one constituted vote-buying, so did the other. He acknowledged the existence of coordination but stated it did not constitute fraud, and pointed out that the Election Commission has legal authority to investigate.

On the specific meeting at Jupiter Room in Muang Thong Thani, Suphachai said that although Nanthana confirmed 300 people gathered there—coming from districts to provinces to the national level—evidence he obtained contradicted her claim that expenses were not shared. According to his information, venue and catering costs were paid by a single person from a shared source, contrary to Nanthana's defense. Suphachai remarked that as a public figure, Nanthana should expect scrutiny and respect legal proceedings without defensiveness. He compared her personality to Professor Minerva McGonagall from Harry Potter and said he respected her, but emphasized he is not aligned with her or the opposition, and that if she holds her MP position based on reputation from her talk show rather than through organization, she has nothing to fear from investigation.

30 Jul Khaosod

In recognition of the late king's benevolence, Sansiri has led its management and employees in charitable activities and volunteer work to honor the royal birthday on July 28, 2025. The company's team united to perform good deeds and dedicate merit-making in respect of the late monarch.

Following the royal vision, volunteer staff mobilized to serve society across four dimensions: disadvantaged children, people with disabilities, elderly persons, and stray or disabled animals. The aim was to ease their burdens and create sustainable social benefits. A Buddhist merit ceremony was held at Siri Campus headquarters, with monks from Wat Trimitraram, to mark the occasion auspiciously and transfer merit to the late king.

Sansiri company honored the late king's boundless compassion by demonstrating loyalty and following royal principles of benefiting society. Management and employee representatives held a merit ceremony with invited monks from Wat Trimitraram at Siri Campus headquarters, celebrating the occasion and dedicating merit.

To continue the late king's vision of doing good with sincere hearts and selfless dedication for society's welfare, Sansiri's volunteer staff engaged in four key areas of support:

Disadvantaged children: provided lunch, donated necessities, and organized recreational activities for youths aged 6–18 at Maharaj Youth Foundation.

People with disabilities: provided lunch, donated money and essential items, and offered support at Nonthaburi Disabled Persons Care and Development Center.

Elderly persons: provided lunch, donated money and essentials, and organized entertainment activities to bring joy at the Foundation Home for the Elderly under Royal Patronage.

Stray and disabled animals: donated animal feed and veterinary care, and assisted with feeding at the Disabled Animals Foundation in Nakhon Pathom.

This unified charitable effort reflects Sansiri's corporate DNA—conducting business with social responsibility and serving as a good corporate citizen. All employees performed their duties with humility, compassion, and commitment to ease society's burdens, fulfilling their duty as Thai citizens under the late king's benevolence.

Thailand Clarifies Copyright Protection for Deceased YouTuber's Videos

Thailand's copyright laws protect YouTube videos as audiovisual works for 50 years from each upload, and deceased creator Hulun Solo's channel rights pass to legal heirs who can manage the account and collect revenue by obtaining court appo

Thailand Clarifies Copyright Protection for Deceased YouTuber's Videos
30 Jul Khaosod

On July 30, 2025, Orman Sapthaweedham, director of the Intellectual Property Department, explained the copyright protection framework for Hulun Solo's case following his death. YouTube video clips are classified as audiovisual works under Thailand's Copyright Act of 1994, incorporating elements such as tourism footage, shot selection and editing, timing control, music and sound effects, and captions—all recorded in digital storage and reproducible.

Hulun Solo is the creator and automatic copyright holder of these works, with rights to reproduce, adapt, distribute, license, and take legal action against infringement for 50 years from creation or first publication. Each video upload marks its own "first publication," triggering a separate 50-year protection period from that upload date.

Copyrights are inheritable property like houses, vehicles, or land. With a will, rights transfer to named beneficiaries; without one, they pass to legal heirs in order of succession: children, parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and spouses. The department recommends heirs submit documents to court requesting appointment as estate administrators, allowing them to manage the YouTube channel, collect revenue, and oversee the channel's ongoing operations.

30 Jul Khaosod

A man and woman lost their way while driving and plunged into an irrigation canal, drowning together, with no one knowing until days later. Local residents said the couple had stopped to ask for directions after becoming disoriented. On July 30, rescue officials and Mae Tang police in Chiang Mai recovered a black sedan that had fallen into the Mae Tang irrigation canal near Thanyalak Hospital in Khi Lek subdistrict, Mae Tang. Investigation revealed two bodies inside—one male and one female. According to preliminary inquiry, on the night of July 28, a man appearing intoxicated arrived at a village with a woman passenger and asked residents for directions after getting lost. Villagers heard a sound like a vehicle accident but no one came out to check. The next day, locals noticed that a cart-trailer belonging to a villager, which had been parked at the village entrance near the canal, had vanished, with tire marks visible leading down the canal bank. Rescue workers then searched using underwater scanning equipment and sent divers to look, but instead found a sedan submerged in the water. When the wreck was recovered, the two bodies were found.

Chinese fugitive wanted in Taiwan arrested in Surat ThaniLegacyA Chinese national wanted by Taiwanese police was arrested in Surat Thani on July 28 after highway police stopped an SUV carrying an undocumented foreign national. Highway Police officers arrested two Chinese nationals on Highway 41 in Tha Chang district after stopping a grey SUV that was travelling slowly in the right-hand lane and obstructing traffic. Police identified the driver as 48 year old Cho and the passenger as 34 year old Hae. According to police, Hae was unable to produce documents authorising him to remain in Thailand. Through an interpreter, he reportedly told officers he entered Thailand about two years ago before travelling to Cambodia for work. Photo via FM91 Hae allegedly re-entered Thailand through a natural border crossing four to five days before his arrest and was travelling to southern Thailand in preparation for seeking work in a third country. Police charged him with entering the Kingdom without permission. Investigators said Cho admitted he had been paid 18,000 baht by a person identified only as “Sia Ju” to transport Hae from a market in central Thailand to a southern border province. Officers alleged Cho knew Hae did not have valid immigration documents and had previously carried out a similar job. FM91 reported that Cho was charged with assisting a foreign national who had entered Thailand illegally to evade arrest. Both accused were handed over to investigators at Tha Chang Police Station for legal proceedings. Checks with Taiwanese authorities found that Hae was wanted under an arrest warrant in Taiwan in connection with a criminal case. Officers said that once legal proceedings in Thailand are complete, Hae will be subject to the appropriate international procedures for his return to Taiwan. Photo via FM91 Elsewhere, a Chinese man wanted for embezzlement was arrested in Phuket after being tracked to a restaurant by immigration officers for overstaying his visa in Thailand. Rangsiman Challenges Suphachai to Name Pheu Thai MPs in Senate Bid

Rangsiman Challenges Suphachai to Name Pheu Thai MPs in Senate Bid
30 Jul Khaosod

On July 30, Rangsiman Rom, a Pheu Thai list-based MP, responded to allegations by Suphachai Jai Samut, a Bhumjaithai list-based MP, who had announced plans to file a complaint with the election commission about Pheu Thai senators allegedly colluding to vote as a bloc in 2567. Rangsiman noted that since Bhumjaithai controls state power, they are better positioned to investigate if they believe wrongdoing occurred.

Rangsiman argued that Suphachai is trying to deflect from the real scandal—apparent Senate rigging that appears to involve Bhumjaithai insiders—by implicating Pheu Thai. He challenged Suphachai to name specific Pheu Thai MPs allegedly involved, pointing out that Pheu Thai is not in government and therefore has no power to manipulate senate appointments. Rangsiman also called on Suphachai and others to answer outstanding questions, including matters involving Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and allegations about the Pullman Hotel restaurant incident.

Rangsiman emphasized that society deserves actual accountability through proper investigation, evidence collection, and prosecution based on facts rather than political rhetoric. He challenged Suphachai to provide concrete evidence—financial trails, video clips, or specific senator selections—rather than vague accusations. Rangsiman contrasted this with Pheu Thai's approach, noting that party member Jatuporn Prompan (referred to as Yingluck's associate in the iLaw project) has already named specific Bhumjaithai figures allegedly involved in blue-shirt senator rigging. He concluded that Pheu Thai stands ready for a full investigation if specific names and evidence are presented.

Social Security Office Clarifies Budget for Board Elections

The Social Security Office clarified that its total budget for board elections is 275 million baht, not 30 million baht as reported to court, with the smaller figure covering only polling station setup costs.

Social Security Office Clarifies Budget for Board Elections
30 Jul Khaosod

The Social Security Office (SSO) clarified on July 30, 2569 that its total budget for the Social Security Board elections is 275 million baht, with the 30 million baht figure representing only the cost of establishing polling stations. Kanjana Poolkaew responded to criticism over discrepancies between the 30 million baht mentioned in a court filing and the 275 million baht in the overall budget allocation request.

The SSO explained that 30 million baht is merely a preliminary calculation for setting up polling stations based on registration data from July 15, 2569, and does not include other expenses or the additional registrations that occurred in the final five days. The full 275 million baht budget covers all aspects of the election project, including administrative costs such as an election command center, staff compensation, meetings, training, equipment, public relations, polling site preparation, and ballot transportation. This estimate assumes a 50 percent voter turnout.

Poolkaew confirmed that the difference in figures stems from different calculation bases. The number reported to the court was intended to compare the cost of setting up polling stations under advance registration versus accommodating all 12 million insured persons, not the total project budget. The SSO will adjust the budget details to match the actual number of polling stations established and will disburse funds according to the approved plan to ensure maximum efficiency and benefit for insured persons and employers participating in the election.

Seven Eleven Opens at Vientiane Train Station

CP All's Seven Eleven convenience store chain opened a new outlet at Vientiane Railway Station in early July, capitalizing on Laos's growing tourism with an 8% increase in foreign visitor arrivals during the first half of 2025.

Seven Eleven Opens at Vientiane Train Station
30 Jul Khaosod

CP All Laos Company, part of CP All Public Company Limited, is strengthening its Seven Eleven convenience store business in Laos with a strategy to connect services to all customer groups, supporting an 8% increase in foreign tourist arrivals during the first five months of 2025.

The Lao News Agency reported that over 2.1 million foreign tourists entered Laos from January to May 2025, representing 8% growth compared to the same period last year and reaching 47% of the annual target of 4.46 million visitors.

These figures reflect growing tourism opportunities as the Lao government intensifies efforts to upgrade tourism service standards and tourist protection. Seven Eleven's operations in Laos focus on providing convenient services to all customer groups, positioning itself as a community partner that promotes sustainable and ethical tourism practices, builds tourist confidence, and supports Laos's sustainable tourism industry development.

Most recently, Seven Eleven expanded into the Laos-China Railway Station at Vientiane Railway Station, the country's main terminal, in early July to support growing travel demand and provide seamless service connectivity. This followed the opening of the first Seven Eleven branch at Luang Prabang Railway Station the previous year.

Chairojn Tiwatthuman, Senior Assistant Managing Director and Managing Director of International Business at CP All, stated that since opening the first Seven Eleven branch in Laos in September 2023, business growth has been satisfactory and well-received. The brand has gained recognition for implementing the Charoen Pokphand Group's three values—benefit to nation, people, and organization—which has helped the company navigate external challenges with flexibility and maintain expansion plans on track.

"Although geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East and rising energy costs have impacted economies, Laos is becoming an attractive destination for regional tourists with purchasing power, particularly Thai travelers, due to convenient transportation connections by land, sea, and air. This aligns with the Lao government's economic development policies investing in infrastructure to transform the country from landlocked to land-linked status and to develop tourism. Seven Eleven will be another business supporting this initiative and benefiting from these positive factors."

Currently, Seven Eleven operates 33 branches throughout Laos in Vientiane Capital, Vientiane Province, Luang Prabang Province, Savannakhet Province, Khammouane Province, and Champasak Province, located in community areas, at fuel stations, and at the Laos-China railway stations.
