Krungsri Credit Card is leveraging the Pet Humanization trend, moving into the full pet economy after pet‑related spending via its cards grew 8% in the first half of 2026, with average spend per account up 10%. The bank plans to push the market through over 50 partners across categories such as pet hospitals and clinics, pet supply stores, pet food retailers, health‑and‑hygiene shops, pet‑friendly hotels and resorts, pet training schools, and pet insurance, covering more than 140 branches nationwide. It offers benefits including discounts, cash‑back, exclusive brand deals, and payment options like 0% instalments to link financial services with pet‑related businesses comprehensively. Krungsri also aims to build a community of pet lovers through offline and online activities and campaigns. Managing Director Somwang Torak Trakool disclosed on October 5, 2026 that pet spending in the first half of 2026 grew 8% year‑on‑year, average monthly spend per primary card rose 10%, and usage frequency increased 2%. He said the segment is a significant business opportunity because pet spending is regular and high‑growth, capable of forming a pet economy. He added that the growing number of pet owners treat their pets as family members, driven by later marriage, lower birth rates, more singles, and the need for companionship amid social pressures. This group spends significantly on premium food, medical care, health and hygiene services, pet insurance, quality apparel and toys, travel, and pet technology such as feeders and air purifiers. The company believes the pet‑lover market potential will help drive its business growth, targeting 1 billion baht in pet‑category card spending this year.
