Lawyer Drives Sports Car to Parliament Over Disability Lottery Scandal

On December 24, Lawyer Sitthira Biabangkoerd arrived at parliament's subcommittee on human security and welfare system reform for veterans, disabled persons, and vulnerable groups, dressed as anime detective Conan complete with magnifying glass and driving a red Nissan GT-R sports car mimicking a Lamborghini owned by a political figure. Before his testimony, the lawyer produced a blue baby powder container from his jacket, joking that his "older brother" named Pang was currently unaffiliated with either the opposition or government and served as his personal protector. Lawyer Tam stated his mission was to uncover who stole disability lottery tickets and emphasized his car's genuine modifications unlike a Lamborghini he claimed had fake parts and a frozen registration.
The lawyer told the subcommittee that he wanted to address the systemic issue of disability lottery management rather than allowing influencers to monopolize donations. He explained that if structural problems were fixed, disabled people could earn livelihoods independently without begging for charity. He claimed to have spoken with 500 disabled persons who want to work autonomously and deserve their fair share of lottery quota allocation.
Lawyer Tam then revealed an alleged scheme involving a security guard who stole approximately 200,000 lottery tickets monthly from disabled persons and resold them to online lottery sellers. The tickets were then sold to online gambling websites and scammers seeking to launder money, with prices inflated 20 percent from 60 million baht to 72 million baht, generating a 12 million baht difference. He stated the security guard previously feared a particular influential figure but that person is no longer connected to the situation, which is why the scheme is now being exposed.
When pressed about who was backing him, Lawyer Tam pulled out the baby powder container again and joked that his "older brother" was confused about whether to align with certain political colors and needed time to figure out his political future. He claimed he entered parliament without any backing to avoid being attacked, unlike another lawyer he referenced.
