Vietnamese Restaurant Tet Opens in Khon Kaen

A Vietnamese restaurant has become popular with residents of Khon Kaen and nearby provinces, drawing crowds eager to taste authentic Vietnamese recipes and traditional dishes that are rarely found elsewhere. The restaurant, called Tet Breakfast Khon Kaen City, is located next to a rice soup shop on Central Road in Muang District, Khon Kaen Province.

Owner Thanawat Sripochonsomboon explained that "Tet" in Vietnamese means the Lunar New Year festival, symbolizing new beginnings and family reunions. He opened the restaurant to bring that atmosphere to Khon Kaen mornings, making each meal filled with smiles and happiness.

The menu features homemade authentic Vietnamese-style breakfast and street food adapted to suit Thai taste preferences. Every dish uses quality ingredients, and some recipes are quite difficult to recreate elsewhere.

Signature dishes include Vietnamese banh mi served fresh daily, crispy outside and soft inside, paired with the restaurant's secret sriracha sauce with a spicy kick. Another popular choice is banh hoai with the original recipe, using flour that dissolves in your mouth, served with fresh vegetables and a balanced dipping sauce.

Recommended dishes include traditional fried egg, grilled pork lemongrass rice noodles served flaming, fresh spring rolls, Hanoi-style pork stew, and authentic Vietnamese bread. Beyond breakfast specialties, the menu also offers lunch options and other dishes packed with vegetables and herbs, with diverse beverage choices.

Must-try drinks include Vietnamese drip coffee and coconut milk blended coffee with Saigon charm, offering aromatic Vietnamese coffee flavor enhanced by fragrant coconut milk. The restaurant also features a shop selling famous local products from Phu Khiao, collecting quality souvenirs from across the country in one place.

Open from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily, with potential extended hours based on customer demand.
