Man Dies After Falling From M82 Expressway
A 37-year-old man died after falling from Bangkok's M82 expressway onto Rama 2 Road on Tuesday; police are investigating whether depression and a recent relationship dispute played a role in the incident.
At 3 p.m. on August 5, 2025, police from Sam Dem Station received a report of a man who had fallen from the M82 expressway onto Rama 2 Road near Soi Rama 2 73 in Bang Khun Thian district, Bangkok. Officers coordinated with medical examiners from Siriraj Hospital and rushed to investigate alongside highway officials and rescue workers from the Thai Red Cross Foundation.
At the scene on the roadside, a 37-year-old man from Bang Khae district was found lying on his back with severe injuries to his arms and legs. An electric sedan with a red Bangkok license plate was parked on the expressway's left shoulder.
Initial findings show the victim suffered from depression and previously worked in logistics before purchasing the electric vehicle to become a ride-share driver. Police also learned that before the incident, the victim had been in a dispute with his girlfriend. Authorities transported the body to Siriraj Hospital for forensic examination and are questioning close associates to determine the actual cause of death before releasing the body to the family for funeral rites.
The M82 expressway, also known as the Bang Khun Thian–Ban Phaew motorway project, opened to the public for trial use in early August.
