MP Rome Denies Backing Kamnan Mano Mob After Photo Circulates
People's Party MP Rangsiman Rome denied any involvement in a protest led by Kamnan Mano after a photo of them together fueled speculation. Rome said they only spoke briefly at a public event in Nakhon Si Thammarat in August and are not personally acquainted. Kamnan Mano separately posted photos with several politicians, describing such meetings as routine.
At 1:20 p.m. on November 5, 2026, at Parliament, People's Party list MP Rangsiman Rome gave an interview regarding the mob led by Mano Kaeokaew, known as "Kamnan Mano," the leader of the People's Revolution to Protect the Nation group, which marched on Government House. A photo of the two together had been released, linking Rome to the protest.
Rome said he had seen the photo and clarified that he did not know Kamnan Mano before they met, likely on August 6 or 7 at an event in Nakhon Si Thammarat where Rome was invited to speak. He said they chatted briefly along with others at the event, estimating the conversation lasted no more than five minutes, though he was not certain because they were not personally acquainted.
"Speaking directly: if a five-minute talk counts as being behind someone, then I think we'd have accomplished a lot. Parliamentary debate and political work would be much easier than that," Rome said.
He added that meetings at public events are open and transparent, not clandestine, and do not violate public order or morals. He believes a photo taken in such a public setting should not carry significant weight.
Meanwhile, Kamnan Mano posted photos with several well-known politicians on Facebook, including Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, Lt. Gen. Thamanat Prompow, MP Piyarat Tiyapairat, and Rangsiman Rome, captioning them: "I am Kamnan. When I meet MPs or politicians, we meet and talk about work and local matters. It's normal, brothers and sisters."
