Protest Convoy Heads to Bangkok Demanding Fuel Price Cut
Kamnan Mano is leading a protest convoy from Nakhon Si Thammarat to Bangkok, aiming to gather 1,000 vehicles at Government House on November 8. The demonstrators demand an immediate 10-baht diesel price cut, national action on the drug epidemic, and accountability for alleged vote-buying in the last election. The convoy will travel through Surat Thani and Prachuap Khiri Khan before reaching the capital.
Nakhon Si Thammarat — On November 5, Kamnan Mano Khruakaew, village headman of Krabi Noi in Krabi Province and leader of the People's Revolution to Protect the Land (NPP), arrived at the Khuan Nong Hong intersection on Asian Highway 41 in Cha-uat District to join thousands of protesters assembling for a journey to Bangkok.
Speaking from a six-wheel truck stage for three hours, Kamnan Mano said the protest stems from genuine public anger over expensive fuel, high living costs, low wages, and unemployment. He demanded the government immediately cut diesel prices by 10 baht per liter and declare the drug epidemic a national priority, stating narcotics have spread to every village and town.
Kamnan Mano also condemned alleged widespread vote-buying in the last election, claiming voters were paid 500–1,000 baht each — effectively renting the country for four years so politicians could recoup their investment with massive profits. He vowed to deliver the people's grievances directly to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and the Interior Minister at Government House.
The convoy, currently over 600 vehicles strong with a target of 1,000, departed at 11:00 AM (earlier than the planned noon start). They will overnight in Surat Thani on November 5, continue to Prachuap Khiri Khan on November 6, and reach Bangkok on November 8 for the Government House rally. Kamnan Mano insisted the movement has no hidden backers and grows organically along the route.
