Thai rockstar Nene Royal is taking her voice from the concert stage to the cinema, making her voice acting debut as the lead character in the Thai-language version of Disney's upcoming animated film Hexed. The 16-year-old singer, whose full name is Rattikarn Amloy, will voice Billie, a teenager who discovers she has magical powers. The film is scheduled to open in Thai cinemas on 26 November.

Nene, who gained international attention through America's Got Talent 2026, said the role offered a new challenge: bringing a character to life using only her voice.

"I feel both happy and very excited," she said. Sharing Billie's age made it easier to connect with the character. However, conveying all of Billie's emotions, thoughts, and personality through her voice was something she had never done before.

Nene said she was looking forward to the challenge and wanted to make the character as lively as possible.

Produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Hexed follows Billie as her newly unleashed powers take her from suburban life into Hexe, a realm of witches. There, she must work with her cautious mother, Alice, to uncover family secrets that could change the witches' world. Hailee Steinfeld voices Billie in the original English-language version, while Rashida Jones voices Alice. The film is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand, with Josie Trinidad as co-director.
