At 5:00 PM on July 9, 2025, Deputy Interior Minister Worasit Liangprasit and Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angsakul inspected road repairs following the collapse near the major roundabout on Prachadhipok Road between Ban Khaek intersection and the roundabout. They were accompanied by Theeraphong Katchamaat, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation; Pongnara Yenying, Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning; and Sahathai Wongsakulwiwat, acting advisor for administrative affairs.
The road collapse and surface cracks resulted from flooding in the Purple Line BRT construction tunnel the previous night. Officials are currently surveying and assessing the road structure and surrounding buildings. All traffic lanes have been closed from Ban Khaek intersection to Prachadhipok Road leading to the roundabout for urgent repairs.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation issued Cell Broadcast messages to residents to avoid the area and allow extra travel time due to traffic congestion. An emergency response team from Pathum Thani Disaster Prevention Center has deployed long-distance water pumps, building collapse rescue vehicles, mobile rescue units with equipment, high-powered lighting trucks of at least 9 meters, 10,000-liter water trucks, and standby crisis management personnel at the scene for immediate response.
