Museum Pier, together with the Silpa Bhirasri Research Center, invites the public to explore the foundations and evolution of Thai sculpture in the major exhibition 'The Spirit of Sculptors.' The show brings together academic sculpture works from three generations of influential Thai artists—Professor Silpa Bhirasri, Wachara Phayurak, and Wayupat Rattanapet—to pass on artistic knowledge from traditional academic roots to contemporary interpretation and creation. A key highlight is the display of Silpa Bhirasri’s works created during his time in Italy before he came to Thailand, gathered from top Thai collectors; most of these pieces have never been seen by the Thai public before, offering a rare chance to trace a pivotal moment in the life and spirit of the father of contemporary Thai art. The exhibition also features new works by Wachara Phayurak and Wayupat Rattanapet, inspired by Silpa Bhirasri’s theories and techniques, reimagined for today’s social and artistic landscape, creating a cross‑generational dialogue that illustrates the continuity and evolution of Thai sculpture. To honor Professor Silpa Bhirasri, the father of contemporary Thai art and his contributions to art and education, Museum Pier invites Thais to view this historic collection and offers special admission discounts: adults 150 baht (regular 250 baht), students and children under 90 cm tall 100 baht (regular 150 baht). The exhibition runs from today through October 23, 2026, at Museum Pier, open 10:00–18:00. For more information visit museumpier.com or the Museum Pier Facebook page.
