Rural Roads Department Builds 390 Million Baht Grade Separation in Pathum Thani

The Department of Rural Roads (DRR) is advancing a major infrastructure development project under the oversight of Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, who has prioritized transportation infrastructure to support systematic economic growth and improve road safety standards. A key project in the metropolitan area is the construction of a grade separation at the intersection of DRR Rural Road 4001 and Highway 352 in Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province.

The intersection experiences heavy traffic congestion, particularly during rush hours, with large trucks, transport vehicles, and private cars frequently using the route. This congestion has resulted in frequent accidents. To prevent collisions, reduce traffic congestion, and improve travel efficiency while supporting the local transport economy, Pathum Thani Province requested the DRR's assistance in implementing the project. The DRR is currently preparing the site for construction, with expected completion in 2029.

The project includes construction of one grade separation bridge spanning 380 meters with two traffic lanes, expansion of an existing canal bridge at kilometer 7+345, and construction of two new canal bridges between canals 6 and 7 at kilometer 8+595. The work also includes drainage systems, electrical lighting, and safety features meeting engineering standards, with a total budget of 390.075 million baht.

The DRR emphasizes public participation to ensure the project meets community needs. Before construction begins, a three-party memorandum of understanding will be signed by the DRR, contractor, and public representatives. The department plans to hold public consultation meetings in November 2024, during which the project background, scope, implementation timeline, and community feedback will be presented.
