Silpin Takes Thai Flavours Global in Five-Year Export Push
Silpin, a Thai agricultural processor, is expanding globally as a premium flavour brand, targeting chefs and high-end venues with luxury syrups, oils, and edible perfumes made from Thai ingredients like jasmine rice and kaffir lime.
Silpin has shifted from a contract agricultural processor to a premium Thai flavour brand, introducing premium syrups, edible perfumes, and gastronomic oils targeted at chefs, mixologists, bartenders, and high-end hotel and lifestyle operators. The company distinguishes itself by "designing experiences" through taste and aroma under the Thai Flavours concept, elevating Thai agricultural ingredients for use in the global food, beverage, and gastronomy industries. Silpin developed three core product lines using Thai-linked ingredients such as Chulalongkorn roses, jasmine rice, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, and mango sticky rice, extracting their flavours and aromas to create new menu possibilities.
Chief Executive Piya Buunnaimkit stated the company is repositioning its brand from Flavour Experience Design House to "The World's First Luxurious Authentic Thai Flavour Brand" to support international expansion after nine years building a domestic customer base. This direction follows the concept "From Local Legacy to Global Gastronomy," transforming the perception of Thai food, desserts, herbs, and ingredients for global markets while shifting from contract manufacturing to owning intellectual property in Thai flavours and developing its own brand.
Silpin targets a 50-50 revenue split between Thailand and foreign markets within five years, currently at approximately 10% foreign revenue. Market expansion will focus on building strategic partnerships with international networks to access customers without establishing all distribution channels independently. The company views foreign expansion not merely as product export but as exporting the value of Thai ingredients and culinary culture through flavour innovation. Silpin has previously collaborated with the Foreign Ministry, Commerce Ministry, and Tourism Authority of Thailand on Thai Flavour Experience Design Events abroad, including a 420-year Thailand-Netherlands diplomatic celebration in The Hague and Salon Gourmets in Madrid, Spain, while partnering with Thai Airways and The Bamboo Bar on the Oriental Dawn cocktail.
