Thai Teen Wins Bronze in Windsurfing at Asian Games
Thai teen windsurfer Kek Chanatkan Jaroensuk won a bronze medal in the IQ Foil under-19 women’s event at the Asian Games. She credited her father, former national windsurfer and Asian Games silver medallist Natthapong Phoenoparat, as her idol and coach. Kek said the medal fulfilled her dream of following in her father’s footsteps.
Kek Chanatkan Jaroensuk, a 16-year-old member of Thailand’s national windsurfing team, said she was overjoyed after winning bronze at the Asian Games. She competed in the IQ Foil under-19 women’s event, taking part in 11 races and accumulating 27 penalty points to secure the medal. She noted that her father, Coach Oat Natthapong Phoenoparat—a former Thai national windsurfer and previous Asian Games silver medallist who now coaches her—has been her idol and motivation. Kek added that she started windsurfing after watching her father sail, admiring his skill and dedication, and dedicated the medal to both herself and her dad.
