Prohphan Samanmit, nicknamed ‘Big Ticket,’ has begun her duties as the new governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (GAT). She performed a merit‑making ritual, paying homage to the GAT’s Buddha image, the Brahman deity Phra Phrom, and the guardian spirit Phra Phum Chai Mongkol for auspiciousness. Her first major assignment is to restore the area surrounding Huamark Sports Centre, which has been hit by severe flooding in recent months. Following cabinet approval, Prohphan Samanmit—formerly the GAT’s deputy governor for professional sports and boxing—was appointed as the agency’s first female governor, taking over from Dr. Kongsak Yodmane whose term ended. She officially started on 1 October 2069, leading a senior GAT team from Huamark in a ceremonial offering before immediately launching work on the flood‑affected Huamark Sports Centre grounds.
