Truck Hits Car and Pickup on Thanarat Road, One Killed
A trailer truck collided with a car and sideswiped a pickup on Thanarat Road in Nakhon Ratchasima, killing one person and injuring six. Rescue crews freed five trapped occupants, including two young children, and sent them to Pak Chong Nana Hospital. Police warned the intersection is accident‑prone and urged drivers to slow down.
Nakhon Ratchasima – A trailer truck loaded with stone, license plate from Nakhon Ratchasima, was parked at the roadside facing Khao Yai, its front bumper crushed and torn. Ahead, a Bangkok-registered sedan lay off the road, its left side crushed and damaged; the driver was ejected and died at the scene, with four others seriously injured trapped inside. Rescue workers used cutting equipment to free five trapped occupants – a four‑year‑old girl, a two‑year‑old boy, the driver’s wife, mother‑in‑law, and a nephew – and rushed them to Pak Chong Nana Hospital. Meanwhile, the driver of a Nakhon Ratchasima‑registered pickup was injured and also taken to hospital. Lt. Col. Prayong said the truck driver told investigators he was traveling from Pak Chong to deliver stone to Mu Si district when he struck the sedan in the middle and then sideswiped the pickup, causing the casualties. Police are gathering evidence and determining the exact cause. Prayong added that accidents frequently occur at this location because vehicles slow to turn into or out of the side street while through‑traffic fails to reduce speed, leading to collisions like this one. All vehicles have been taken to Mu Si Police Station for further inspection.
