At 1:20 p.m. on September 14, 2025, the Chiang Mai Ad Hoc Rescue Association reported that Rescue Unit 810 responded to an accident on the Chiang Mai–Lampang highway near Kad Tat Doi Kaew, heading north toward Chiang Mai in Mae Tha district, Lamphun province.
Rescuers found a six-wheel truck loaded with rubber seeds that had lost control, veered off the roadside, and crashed into a ravine approximately 10 meters deep. The vehicle sustained severe damage. Rescue personnel and volunteers discovered the male driver injured and trapped inside. Rescuers worked quickly to extract him from the wreckage and coordinated with local ambulances for additional assistance.
Once the ambulance arrived, paramedics provided first aid before transporting the injured driver to a hospital. Preliminary investigation suggests the truck's brake system failed, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The truck then sideswiped a gray BMW sedan before losing its grip on the road and falling into the ravine. Authorities continue to investigate the accident in detail.
