Actress Um Struggles With Rowing Lesson During Bangkok Floods

Thai actress Um Patchrapa has had to switch to rowing a boat outside her home to pick up her mother, who went out to feed the dogs and is worried about starving them. This task is not going well, and ultimately her mother will have to row back herself.

This reflects the flooding situation that Bangkok residents are experiencing, caused by continuous heavy rain that has left homes submerged. The luxury home of actress Um Patchrapa has also been affected, requiring sandbags to be placed in front of the house and boats to replace cars as the main mode of transportation. She posted a video of her rowing practice with a caption explaining: "Practicing rowing to pick up mom tonight. Mom went out to feed the dogs, worried about starving my sibling. We have to row out to pick her up tonight. We tried rowing, but nobody made it through. Check out the video! A once-in-a-lifetime moment rowing in front of my house. (Basically he'll park the boat at the guard post and have mom row back herself.)"

Um practiced rowing several times starting around 6 p.m. in preparation to pick up her mother around 10 p.m., but the practice did not appear successful. She kept rowing in circles, the boat nearly capsized multiple times, and she screamed in distress.

Comments from friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry came in to encourage her, with close friends joking about her rowing skills, saying things like "Don't bring shame on the actress role," and offering words of support and advice to take care of herself. Some noted that she appeared to be going in circles.
