Card Shop Defrauded of 30 Million Baht in One Piece, Pokemon Scam
A trading card shop lost nearly 30 million baht after a supplier fraudulently posed as an importer of One Piece and Pokemon cards, collecting customer pre-orders before disappearing; the shop has filed a police complaint and vows to pursue
A pre-order card shop has issued a public statement about being defrauded of 860 units of One Piece OP17 and Pokemon trading cards worth nearly 30 million baht, vowing to pursue the case and not abandon efforts to resolve it.
The shop had opened pre-orders for One Piece and Pokemon cards, collecting payment from customers in advance before transferring 29,117,300 baht to a supplier identified as Mr. K, who claimed he could source and import the goods. This included 860 units of OP17 cards. When the scheduled delivery date of September 3 arrived, Mr. K said to wait for the stock from another party, Mr. N. However, when contacted, Mr. N denied ever receiving an order for the OP17 cards from Mr. K.
On September 7, the shop posted a public statement informing pre-order customers of the situation. The statement explained that as a trading card retailer specializing in Pokemon and One Piece cards, it was clarifying the shipping status of orders. The shop confirmed it had purchased the cards from Mr. K, who posed as a supplier and importer, but after ordering and transferring payment, the shop neither received the goods nor got satisfactory responses from Mr. K. Investigation revealed that Mr. K had fraudulently claimed to be a supplier and deceived the shop into transferring customer funds to him illegally.
On September 6, 2025, the shop filed a complaint with investigators at Bang Maenang Police Station to pursue a case against Mr. K, which is currently under investigation. The shop stressed it is not taking this matter lightly and is working with full effort to resolve the situation, and apologized to customers for the delay. It promised to update customers as soon as there are developments in the case.
