Heavy rains caused flash floods and mudslides to sweep through villages in Na Bo Sot subdistrict, Wang Chao district, Tak province on September 28, 2026, at around 9 a.m. The disaster damaged more than 20 homes, agricultural land, and village roads in communities 4, 8, and 9. Officials deployed aid teams to assist vulnerable groups, particularly patients dependent on oxygen who lost power when electrical systems failed. Water levels remain elevated as emergency response teams continue operations.
At 12:12 p.m., authorities issued a cell broadcast alert warning residents of continued heavy rainfall, sudden flash floods, swollen waterways, and overflowing banks across multiple subdistricts in Tak. Residents were advised to move belongings to higher ground, relocate vehicles, secure valuables and documents, avoid electrical hazards, monitor vulnerable family members, and stay updated on official warnings.
Social media posts documented the force of the floodwaters, showing a morgue unit swept away by the current in Na Bo Sot subdistrict. Highway 12 from Mae La Mao to Tak (Mae Sod–Tak route) and the Mae Ramad–Ban Tak section both experienced flooding and landslides.
