The Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital has launched cnsKRAFT, an innovation that classifies brain cancers and central nervous system tumors to enable rapid and accurate treatment planning tailored to individual patients. Affinom Limited, a specialist in medical device manufacturing, handles production under ISO 13485 quality management standards.
Dr. Thidatip Wongsurawat, head of the Medical Bioinformatics Unit at the Siriraj Genomics Center, Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, explained that cnsKRAFT was developed to classify brain cancers and central nervous system tumors using Nanopore sequencing technology combined with multidimensional molecular data analysis from a single test. This covers gene mutations, copy number variations, and DNA methylation patterns.
The integrated data analysis provides physicians and pathologists with comprehensive molecular-level information to support diagnosis, tumor classification, and personalized treatment planning. The goal is to enable rapid and more accurate brain cancer and central nervous system tumor classification, reduce dependence on foreign molecular testing services, and strengthen Thailand's capabilities in molecular cancer analysis and precision medicine.
BiKRAFT Co., Ltd. developed and commercialized cnsKRAFT by licensing the research knowledge from Mahidol University and engaging Affinom Limited to manufacture the product under ISO 13485:2016 quality management standards.
