Sitting drinking alcohol with his son-in-law, the two suddenly argued. The father-in-law became angry, grabbed a shotgun and shot the son-in-law. He then waited to turn himself in to police. On October 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM, Lan Sak police in Uthai Thani province received a report via 191 of a shooting with a fatality at a house in Moo 11, Thung Nang Ngam sub-district, Lan Sak district. Officers arrived and found the victim, identified as 50-year-old Meesak, lying dead on a marble table under the house. At the same time, police arrested the shooter, 71-year-old Somkiat, who was waiting to meet officers, along with the shotgun used. Witness Wirut said the shooter was the father-in-law and the victim the son-in-law, both living in the same house. Earlier, the three had been drinking together when an argument broke out, prompting the father-in-law to retrieve the shotgun and shoot the son-in-law in front of them.
