Flash flood after less than an hour of heavy rain swept away the Mae Sam Lap Subdistrict agricultural building, eroding riverbanks along the Mae Sam Lap stream. Officials are assessing the damage. On October 6, 2026, Mae Sam Lap Subdistrict Mayor Phongphiphat Mabenjamas said the flash flood that occurred overnight swept through the Mae Sam Lap creek with strong currents, eroding banks and causing the agricultural building to be washed away instantly. The flood also damaged the approach to the Mae Sam Lap village bridge, though it remains passable. Initially, the subdistrict coordinated with provincial engineering officials to inspect the bridge for safety and strength to protect residents using it. Additionally, the flood continues to erode riverbanks along the Mae Sam Lap waterway, increasing risk to riverside areas and residential buildings, which could suffer further damage if heavy rain and flash floods persist.
