Heavy Rain Forecast Across 34 Thai Provinces Tomorrow
Thailand's Meteorological Department warns of heavy rain across 34 provinces tomorrow, with a risk of flash floods and overflowing streams. The northern, central, eastern and southern regions are expected to see the strongest downpours, and sea waves could top two metres in the Andaman and Gulf of Thailand. Residents and mariners are advised to stay alert and avoid travel through flooded or storm‑affected areas.
The Meteorological Department predicts thunderstorms covering 30% of the North, with heavy rain in Tak, Kamphaeng Phet and Phetchabun; 30% of the Northeast, focusing on Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani; 70% of the Central region, including Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram; 60% of the East, covering Chachoengsao, Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat; 60% of the eastern southern coast, covering Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat; and 60% of the western southern coast, covering Phang Nga, Krabi and Trang. Bangkok and its vicinity are expected to see 60% thunderstorm coverage with heavy rain. Temperatures will range from lows of 21‑28 °C to highs of 30‑36 °C, with easterly winds of 10‑30 km/h. Sea waves in the Andaman Gulf and Gulf of Thailand will exceed two metres in thunderstorm areas, prompting mariners to check routes and avoid sailing in stormy zones. The department warns that intense and accumulated rainfall could trigger flash floods and overflowing streams, especially in mountainous slopes and low‑lying areas near waterways.
