Isuzu Delivers 47th Clean Water System to School in Ubon Ratchathani

Isuzu Thailand, led by Hiroyasu Sato, managing director of Tri Petch Isuzu Sales, and Somsri Promyathai, director of the Groundwater Resources Bureau Zone 11 under the Department of Groundwater Resources, have delivered the 47th clean drinking water system through the 'Isuzu Gives Water for Life' programme to Ban Lai Sung School in Trakarn Phuchhol District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The project aims to improve quality of life for students, teachers, and the local community, reflecting Isuzu's business principle: 'satisfied customers, increased income, and society development.' Sato said the programme is a long-term social initiative that Isuzu remains committed to continuing, ensuring schools across Thailand have access to clean water for adequate and sustainable consumption, even amid societal challenges. The school, which serves kindergarten through grade six students, had faced a serious shortage of clean water due to poor water quality in the area, with problems including rusty, salty, and brackish water that standard filtration systems cannot treat. The school previously purchased approximately 15 tanks of drinking water weekly at 15 baht per tank, costing around 900 baht monthly. The new system will reduce these expenses, freeing up funds for other school needs. Isuzu's team, working with groundwater department officials, installed a complete groundwater well system, clean water filtration meeting standards, a water production building, and staff training on operation, cleaning, and maintenance, plus regular water quality monitoring to meet hygiene standards. The system will serve approximately 3,000 people including students, staff, and the neighbouring community. The project also features solar energy systems, aligning with Isuzu's carbon neutrality commitment and Thailand's renewable energy policy, while reducing the school's electricity bill by approximately 3,000 baht monthly. Somsri Promyathai expressed satisfaction that Ban Lai Sung School received support from the Isuzu initiative.
