Man Escapes Naked After Gang Ambush, Assault
A 27-year-old man in Phatthalung was lured to a temple by his ex-girlfriend, ambushed by 10 masked youths, beaten and robbed, then fled naked to a nearby house for help.
Police in Muang Phatthalung district responded to reports of an assault victim on September 15. Officers found Kittisakdi Sokhao, 27, injured and naked near a construction site in Tha Khaek subdistrict. He had head wounds, multiple bruises, and was in shock.
Kittisakdi explained that his ex-girlfriend, whom he had been in contact with for two months after their breakup, contacted him and arranged to meet to discuss money matters. Concerned for her, he drove to meet her on a road behind Tha Khaek Temple. Upon arrival, he encountered a group of masked teenagers wearing helmets who forced him into an alley where 10 youths total were waiting with 4–5 parked vehicles.
The gang stripped him naked, sexually assaulted him while recording video, beat him, and stole his mobile phone and cash before abandoning him on the road. Kittisakdi managed to run to the nearby house of Narongkit Thongsomma, 56, who was sitting outside with two friends. Narongkit alerted village officials and emergency responders. Phatthalung Hospital treated his injuries. Police are now collecting evidence, investigating the suspects, and documenting stolen property for legal proceedings.
