Media Fund Launches Micro Drama Competition with 200,000 Baht Prize

On September 18, the Media Fund for Safe and Creative Content held an awards ceremony for the Micro Drama Master project at ibis Styles Bangkok Ratchada, celebrating the advancement of new-media producers and the promotion of safe, responsible vertical video drama content. The program received overwhelming response, attracting 421 submissions from Thai nationals across all age groups nationwide under the theme "When Truth Has No Filter." Of these, 287 participants progressed to the basic online training level, and 25 were selected for intensive advanced on-site workshops.

Dr. Usha Rungrojkarnkha, Director of Media Promotion and Development, noted that the Media Fund remains committed to fostering quality media production that creates a learning-friendly media environment. Vertical-format content, or micro-drama, has gained tremendous popularity, offering an effective way to communicate important social issues to diverse audiences through an innovative medium. The Micro Drama Master program extends beyond training producers to build an entire ecosystem of new creators—skilled storytellers and producers with social responsibility alongside quality-conscious audiences.

During the ceremony, ten finalists' works were screened, reflecting diverse social perspectives developed through intensive mentoring. Three winners received cash prizes totaling 200,000 baht: grand prize winner Chalchat Pothyaem for The Honest Glitch (100,000 baht), first runner-up Harn Sayrathseth Sritepiem for Boxes (70,000 baht), and second runner-up Pakaphum Hannapha for Mom's Final Live (30,000 baht). Certificates of completion were also awarded to all 25 advanced-level graduates, recognizing their commitment to producing socially valuable media.
