Global cute superstar Moo Deng the pygmy hippo has received a major family promotion. Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi announced the arrival of a brand-new baby pygmy hippo. The little one was born on November 4, 2026. The mother is 14-year-old Moo Manao, while the father is Moo Deng's own brother Moo Tun. That makes the newborn Moo Deng's biological nephew, instantly turning fans worldwide into 'grandparent fans.' Zoo health checks confirm both mother and baby are doing well. The calf is already wobbling around to explore, while first-time mom Moo Manao stays on round-the-clock guard, not even allowing keepers to get too close. Adding to the fairy-tale vibe, the parents Moo Tun and Moo Manao held a nationwide sensation of a 'wedding' back in January 2025, with Princess Ubonratana herself presiding over the ceremony. The zoo says the adorable nephew will meet the public soon. Next time you visit Thailand to see Moo Deng, you can also swoon over the new baby.
