Opposition Prepares No-Confidence Motion for October Parliament Vote

On September 25 at the National Anti-Corruption Commission office, Nathpong Ruengpanya, a list MP and Pheu Thai Party leader, briefed reporters on progress with coalition opposition parties preparing a no-confidence motion. He said the framework is in final stages of consolidation, combining input from all participating parties, and once completed will move to signature phase. Based on the timeline, the no-confidence debate is expected to reach Parliament in October.

When asked whether the party has sufficient evidence, Nathpong said the data already in hand carries considerable weight, though Pheu Thai has opened channels for additional information from those directly affected. He said the debate aims to expose flaws in what he termed the "blue regime"—referring not just to political parties but also to independent bodies and capital groups supporting it.

Nathpong indicated the motion will target multiple players, including companies allegedly favored in state procurement where specifications appear locked in, as well as civil service appointments, transfers, and corruption in local elections. He declined to confirm whether any ministers beyond Prime Minister Anusit Chanyaweerukul and Digital Economy Minister Chaiyachon Chidchob would be named, saying details would be revealed when the motion is filed.

Asked if he feared backlash over Pheu Thai's own role in creating the blue regime through past votes, Nathpong said the priority now is solving current problems. He acknowledged past voting records but argued the core issue is a constitution that allows one faction to monopolize power and election fraud. He said the real solution lies in reform—a new constitution—which his party is already preparing detailed proposals on.
