Parliament Debates 14-Hour Marathon Session on Southern Border Crisis

Following broad debate from 17:40 to 22:40, lasting over five hours total, parliament debated which committee should continue the review: the Legal Affairs, Justice and Human Rights Committee chaired by Rangsiman Rom of the Pheu Thai Party list, or the National Security Committee, State Border Affairs, National Strategy and National Reform Committee chaired by Montian Songprecha of the Bhumjaithai Party from Chai Nat. The opposition coalition favored both committees handling the matter, while the government coalition supported the National Security Committee. Acting on Standing Orders Section 88, Lert Sakkadikul referred the matter to the National Security Committee for 90 days of consideration before adjourning at 23:25.
