British Man Arrested for Counterfeit Goods Swap Scam

Buriram police officers led by Pol. Lt. Col. Warayus Chanyiam, commander of Buriram Provincial Police, along with other economic crime division personnel, conducted a search of a resort room in Krasang subdistrict, Mueang district, Buriram province on September 15, 2025, under court warrant 87/2569. The search followed a complaint from Mega Castle Company, which reported that a British man had ordered Buriram United sports shirts and trousers online across four transactions. The customer later requested a refund, citing incorrect sizing and a desire to reorder. The company processed the return, but upon receipt discovered suspicious discrepancies suggesting the returned items might not be the original merchandise shipped. This prompted the company to file a complaint for police investigation. During the search, officers found the British resident and seized four Buriram United sports shirts and trousers as evidence. The case remains under investigation as authorities gather evidence and verify the facts before determining whether an offense occurred. Pol. Lt. Col. Warayus advised the public and online merchants to retain all purchase records, receipts, shipping details, and photographs of items before shipment and after return to prevent disputes and fraud. The suspect remains presumed innocent pending final judgment.
