Party Leader Distributes Halal Meals to Bangkok Flood Victims
Prachathai Party leader Tawi Sodsong distributed halal meals and supplies to Bangkok flood victims in the Ramkhamhaeng area on September 28, with a halal kitchen established at Mini Plaza Food Centre to serve affected residents.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Tawi Sodsong, a member of parliament and leader of the Prachathai Party, along with his son Ravish Sodsong, visited the Ramkhamhaeng area in Bangkok on September 28 to monitor the flooding situation and provide assistance to affected residents. They visited Mini Plaza Food Centre on Ramkhamhaeng Soi 59, where a halal kitchen had been established to prepare and distribute food to flood victims.
The operation was spearheaded by Voraluksana Srisuad, deputy party leader and operator of Muslim Home, with support from the Prachathai network, local community groups, and volunteers who prepared meals and distributed them throughout affected areas. Lieutenant Colonel Tawi contributed seven containers of rice and large quantities of drinking water for food preparation and distribution. He subsequently visited Ramkhamhaeng Soi 81, where he distributed cooked meals and water to residents waiting for assistance, and provided one container of rice to local motorcycle delivery riders for meal preparation.
Lieutenant Colonel Tawi stated, "I came today to offer encouragement. The Ramkhamhaeng area has been severely affected in some places. The Mini Plaza owner Jufah has set up this kitchen to alleviate suffering. Some areas we'll visit, others people can come to us. We help each other, contributing our own effort. Please stay strong and get through this difficult period. Survival is more important than anything else. Our friends from the three southern border provinces worry about their children here, so I want to say we will look after one another. Please stay hopeful."
The Ramkhamhaeng community, home to many residents from the southern border provinces who come to study, work, and earn income to support their families back home, has received strong support from the Prachathai Party. The party reaffirmed its commitment to standing beside people in all situations, particularly assisting residents from the three southern border provinces living and working in Bangkok, while coordinating with local networks to provide continuous relief and assistance.
