Pickup Truck Plows Into Laundromat After Losing Control in Heavy Rain
A 23-year-old driver lost control of his pickup truck in heavy rain near Huai Racha Hospital, crashing through a laundromat and injuring a woman waiting inside with cuts and bruises.
A 23-year-old driver lost control of a white Isuzu pickup in heavy rain while returning from Huai Racha Hospital, where he had taken his grandfather and nephew to visit his grandmother who was undergoing eye surgery. The vehicle collided with a black sedan parked in front of a papaya salad restaurant, then struck a second pickup belonging to a customer waiting for laundry, before crashing into the coin-operated laundromat nearby.
The impact threw the vehicle into a 24-year-old woman sitting inside the laundromat waiting for her clothes. She sustained bruising and lacerations to her chin requiring stitches, abrasions to her legs, and multiple bruises across her body. She was treated at the scene by rescue workers before being transported to Huai Racha Hospital for observation.
Police questioned the driver, who stated he was traveling at speed in heavy rain and could not control the vehicle once it began to skid. Three vehicles were severely damaged—two white Isuzu pickups and one black sedan—and a structural column inside the laundromat was broken. Security camera footage recorded the incident. Police are continuing their investigation into the full circumstances of the accident. Authorities have urged the public to exercise extra caution during heavy rain, reduce speed, and maintain safe distance from vehicles ahead to prevent similar accidents.
